This is not a game that I knew anything about before I talked to Rob in Las Vegas when we recorded these videos. You
will see in our first video below an explanation about the giant payoffs that quad Jacks, Queens and Kings get and this influences
Rob's decisions.

In this first example, he explains that he is going for quads -- either the king or the queen -- rather than hold two
high cards. With two high cards -- if the king and queen were both held -- you have a chance for a full house,
or a better shot at getting your money back with one high pair, or even two pair, but Rob wants the chance for quads.

22. In this next hand Rob is going for only the kings instead of the conventional play of two
pair which gives you a better shot at a full house. Again, he wants the quads. He points out that the "math"
of the game shows only a difference of 19-cents on a $1 per coin game between the "correct play" and the Rob
Singer "special play." Rob says he will give up the 19-cents for the chance at the big win. Note that
the pair of kings still gives you a break even hand. Those who follow the "math" will clearly point out
that every time you give up 19-cents you are taking a hit in your return. You might say that when you are giving up 19-cents
here and giving up 19-cents there that pretty soon you've giving up a lot of money. But that's not how Rob
sees it. Yes, this is why Rob Singer is so controversial.

If you've been following the strategy so far, this play will not come as a surprise to you. The conventional hold is
to go for the three suited cards which could be a straight or a flush or a straignt flush. A straight flush would
be nice. The second best conventional hold is the two high cards, to give the player a better shot at making a
high pair and getting their money back, or a full house, or even trips. But again, Rob wants the quads. Watch

You're not going to be surprised by Rob's hold in this next hand because he has already given us enough hints about how he
plays video poker differently. He has called himself an "aces man" always drawing for quads aces. Notice
that the difference in Rob's special play versus the conventional math play is only 3-cents on a $1 per coin game.
The "math guys" will tell you that those 3-cents will add up over time. Rob doesn't care-- it's not his
style to worry about three cents-- not when you have a chance at quad aces.

If you've been following Rob Singer's strategy you will know that he wants to improve his chances at getting high quads.
So, in this next example, I asked him which quads he was going to try to get -- quad queens or quad kings? He explains
his choice of holding just the king. You might not agree with this play, and most players and video experts won't
agree with Rob's play either, but Rob carefully did think out his choice between going for quad queens and quad kings.

Here is another of Rob Singer's special plays where there is a big cash difference in what "the math" says to do,
and what Rob Singer wants to do. Instead of a good shot at a flush or a straight, and a one out of 47 shot at a straight
flush, Rob is holding the pair of Jacks which he points out is a guaranteed winner but also gives him a shot at quad Jacks.
Like you, I've held four to the flush and four to a straight and have missed both the flush and the straight and I regretted
I didn't hold a high pair. But "the math" says that if you play enough hands, you wll come out ahead going
for the straight flush draw. Rob says he doesn't want to take that risk. Watch as Rob explains his reasoning below.
